Backyards?

I'm wandering around Canal and I see across the street some of the prettiest construction fencing ever on Renwick Street (Hudson Square). I cross over to find that it's not construction fence, but wooden dividers separating three big back yards to the new big glass building (whose face is probably on Varick). Because it's not one big yard, it looks like the bottom apartments get big grassy back yards. I had a hard time finding a place to stand that really showed it, too many cars in the way.
