New York City Marathon
One trick I did manage to make work was to crank up the aperture number and then crank down the shutter speed. As long as the spectators held relatively still I got a steady foreground and nice motion blurry runners.

Ladies in feathers
The one below has the smile and fills in that space on the right with a nice hoop earring circle but I like the attitude in the above version better. Plus I like the echo of her ice in how the guy's holding his phone. I decided/rationalized the scribbles on the truck was enough to hold up that side of the photo.
This last one is just fun to scroll past with that huge head piece she has. :)
Two that I cut at the last minute are this and this. Something about maybe the way the eyes are covered really keep my eyes engaged but I can't tell if that's a good thing or if they're lacking enough compositional flow to help my eye so I'm just getting lost. I welcome your input on this.

Self
For the interior pictures for the Curbed sites I use a tripod and remote trigger. This way I get to keep a nice low ISO and I'm better able to compare what I see with my eyes versus what I'm seeing through the camera.
I don't know why I'm doing that weird twist with my foot.
And P.S. that was a beautiful bathroom. :)
