Regarding today's Curbed item on the anticipated new Lower Manhattan Whole Foods, I was by the site on Sunday to admire the new signage and was distressed at the lack of Whole Foods in the rendering. Instead the emphasis at ground level is on the trees and landscaping.
I also walked past the not-quite-moved-in-yet sales office on Harrison at Staple Street. None of the renderings in the window showed any sign of a future Whole Foods either.
All is not lost though, there's still the description on LowerManhattan.info:
101 Warren Street (formerly known as 270 Greenwich)
Developer Edward J. Minskoff Equities Inc. was selected by the city to build a tower on a 90,565-square-foot lot bound by Greenwich, Murray, and Warren Streets, on the urban-renewal site known as Site 5B. The project will create a 35-story tower with more than 420 residential units; about 170,000 square feet of retail space, including a Whole Foods supermarket and Barnes and Noble bookstore; and two levels of below-grade public parking for up to 400 vehicles. It is expected to create about 300 permanent jobs and 1,000 construction jobs.
