It took me a long time to figure out why this has appeal for me. I finally realized it's the echo of the mailbox's arc in the gate to the schoolyard.

Not only is the arch mirrored between the mailbox and the school yard gate but in the boy as well. His body is mirroring the arch shape as well. It all beautifully comes together like that.
