For what it's worth, this was shot with a 100mm lens with the aperture number set pretty low. I was shooting food, so I was using the macro abilities of this lens (ultimately it was a little too magnifying and the shots looked almost scientific and abstract instead of like meals) but I know a lot of people use this for a portrait lens and it's not hard to see why.
