This and the two below are examples of something I often struggle with. What do you do when half the photo is a foreground of asphalt? Sometimes there are lines or potholes or texture or something, but most of the time I just want the subject. Am I wrong to crop out the street and turn everything into a panorama?
I think it completely depends on the subject and what you are trying to accomplish with the shot. In these cases, I much prefer the bike photo in it's original form. The details are much more reachable and you don't have to work so hard to appreciate the scene. However, I prefer the balloons in panorama. It's a simpler scene and the perspective seems more satisfying...
