Cedar St. opened up between Trinity and Greenwich the other day for the first time in at least a couple years. It was open after 9/11, but when it came time to put in the 1/9 train and all that under-the-street infrastructure, this one block took a particularly long time.
Other than being an easier way to get from Broadway to Greenwich, there's not much remark to be made about Cedar St. One highlight of interest is the mark on this door. There are a few of them still left in the area. It is what the FDNY and other rescue workers left on a building in the days after the attack after they'd searched it for survivors.
