This one's actually in Manhattan. Renwick St. I think. Hudson Square.
I think these are from 2005, but I also know that Shepard Fairey did this batch himself.

And I learned from the link above that this is the one they did in 2005

Here's the funny part. The building directly across from the construction, the building that's losing its river/sunset/skyline view to the new building has this sign posted:
You might have to click it for the larger size to read it. It says, "Construction workers clean up if you're going to eat outside our home please. -101" Insult to injury.

What's weird is that the building is literally 5 feet deep. It's basically the width of a single person. I can't imagine how they're going to run any kind of restaurant out of here.

They've got a little lounge area inside and a garage area as well. I'm not sure if members are allowed to work on their own personal classic cars in their or if it's all club cars. Strangely, no one seemed to care that I was walking around in there taking pictures and kicking tires.

Actually one answer might be, who in their right mind would give the keys to the Viper to a parking garage attendant? The real answer, though, I think, is that this is on Dominick St. right around the corner from the Classic Car Club of Manhattan. I'll make a separate post of those photos.

When I took those Chrysler Building pictures last week it was actually this building that I was looking for. On 42nd and pretty far east, it's got a hollow core and glass skin, so at night it's like looking at a giant cross section of an office building with a garden atruim at the bottom. Unfortunately a lot of the depth is lost in 2D, but I still like the shapes.

UPDATE:
A good shot finally of progress on the interior of the space on the corner of N8th and Wythe in Northside. I don't see any indication of a name yet. It's bigger than I thought it was, running all the way back through the building and out into the yard out back. It's obviously a bar, you can see the taps are installed (no tap handles yet) and in the foreground are natural wood counters with some kind of shiny heavy laminate on them. The place looks good so far.

The rising moon was huge all last week. This may not look like much, but it's a personal victory to have found a way to take a picture of the moon that isn't just a white disc. If you view the large size you'll see that I got its shadows. Now I just have to figure out how make it look as impressive as it did in person.

The post production on these is a little heavy, but I took them in the dark with the little camera and I figured the surrealism of the subject matter justified it. Where else but in Brooklyn (Metropolitan near Kent) can you find a human gyroscope in front of a huge fun house mirror just sitting on the sidewalk?
