Layers deep



Ever go to a really picturesque place and every other person is taking a photo of every square inch of the place and suddenly you lose your urge to take a picture of anything?

I forgot to mention, this particular place is Seattle's Pike Place Market.

Yes, I call it: New York City.

Seriously, I love this city and want to capture it often, but there are so many people here doing it, I often lose the inspiration.

HA! Good point! And thanks for making it. It's worth considering why I don't hate taking pictures in tourist areas of NYC. I actually don't take many of midtown, probably for that reason, but the more I think about it, the more reasons I find for taking pictures, beyond just being the first and/or only one.

That said, when I'm focusing on a bucket of flower in this Seattle market and there are five people holding their arms out with cell phone cameras taking pictures of the same bucket... well, it's hard to stay inspired.
