Incidental activism: No cars in NYC

Though not the stated purpose of the major protests earlier this week, one result was to show parts of the city with no car traffic.

Even if you went out at the crack of dawn on a Sunday I don't know if you'd be able to see up Broadway from Franklin Street to Grace Church (10th St.) with no cars in between.

From Soho to the Battery.

Thompson Street. Even though it wasn't officially blocked to traffic, the protest march choked off so many cars that surrounding streets were also empty.

After the immigration march, Broadway was empty up to Canal St.
